FAQ

1. What should I bring?

WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP:

·         Please label all belongings.

·         Basketball shoes (please note that your camper will play some on outdoor courts if you would like to pack a separate set of shoes for that purpose)

·         At least six pairs of basketball shorts

·         At least six pairs of athletic socks

·         At least six t-shirts

·         Pajamas

·         Toiletries and shower shoes (campers share hall bathrooms in the dorms)

·         Each camper is responsible for bringing his own linens and towels, we recommend:

·         Sheets (twin, extra-long)

·         Pillow and pillow case

·         Blanket

·         Bath and face towels

·         Alarm clock

·         $10.00 Room key deposit if you lose the one provided

·         Campers are permitted to bring cell phones, iPods, etc to camp but we strongly recommend that these items be left locked in the camper's dorm room. The camp is not responsible for lost items. If your camper chooses to carry a bag around to gyms, please make sure the bag is clearly identifiable.

·         For campers who need to carry medication with them throughout the camp day, we recommend a string backpack labeled clearly with the camper’s name.

·         Please list on the registration form any medications that your child is taking. If your child has allergies, asthma, etc., please note this on the form. This information will be filed for our trainers if your child is injured or sick.

2. When will I receive my registration packet?

Your registration packet will be ready at the first day of the camp.

3. What if I sign up but need to change the week of camp I am attending?

Please send email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. before May 24th and we would be happy to make any changes you need. We will charge $20.00 for each change. The only time we cannot help you move is if there is the camp you desire to move to is full.

4. What is your cancellation policy? Are there any refunds?

CANCELLATIONS - REFUND/CREDIT POLICY

Once you register and pay for camp, any cancellation, withdrawal, or transfer will fall under the following policies:

 

PRIOR TO MAY 24th

CANCELLATION (for any reason): We will issue you a voucher for all tuition fees paid, valid through the following calendar year.

TRANSFER TO ANOTHER CAMP: Additional $20 Transfer Fee

VOLUNTARY WITHDRAWAL/CAMP DISMISSAL

For campers that leave camp due to voluntary withdrawal or dismissal from camp, there will be no refunds of any kind. Some examples of voluntary withdrawal consist of, but are not limited to - homesickness, doctor's appointment, birthday parties, school functions, etc.

If you register your child for camp and they do not attend, you will not receive a refund. ALL cancellations must be submitted in writing (by letter or email). You will receive an emailed confirmation of your cancellation request once it has been received. No-shows on any day of camp will NOT be refunded/credited for any reason. Camp dismissal can occur for any violation of the camper's code of conduct.

5. How are the campers divided during camp?

On the first day of camp, campers will be evaluated and then placed into groups according to their age and ability. Experienced and non-experienced campers alike can enjoy and thrive at NY Hoop School Euro Camp. The camp director must approve all such moves.

6. Can parents stay and watch during camp?

For local parents only. Parents are always welcome at our camp. We would like all parents to be sure to attend our parent orientation held on the first day of camp during the registration process. We would also like all parents to attend our closing ceremonies program on the final day at camp. All of our sites are open to parents to view at all times activities are planned. However, we are unable to offer meals for anyone attending as a spectator.

7. What are the check in and check out times?

Camp check-in time is June 9th at 8:00 A.M. and check out time is June 17th at 7:00 P.M.

9. What is a typical camp day?

10. What is included with the camp fee?

The camp fee includes all coaching and instruction, 3 meals of open buffet food, accommodations, Niagara Falls and New York City and local trips trips plus a special edition NY Hoop School camp t-shirt.

11. I cannot get my child to camp on the first day, can he still attend?

First day is very important for the camper and us. There will be orientation for the dorm and courts. Players will be grouped by their age and ability. So he can still attend but he may not have proper orientation and group. 

12. Are all meals provided?

Yes, campers enjoy three open buffet meals a day. But breakfast won`t be provided for the first day of the camp.

13. How many players are in a room?

We are offering rooms that accommodate three campers with 3 separate twin size beds.

14. Do I have to pay for the whole camp when I register?

Yes, you will need to pay all when registering.

15. Is there a concession stand or store available?

There will be snacks, beverages, and NY Hoop School t-shirts available at the Camp Canteen. The store located in the lobby and will be open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Food will only be consumed in the lobby or cafeteria.

16. What is the coach to camper ratio?

We typically have 8-10 campers to each coach.

17. What if my camper loses his key at camp?

We will charge $10.00 for each key. The Camp is financially responsible to LeMoyne College. The Camp does not profit from the collection of these fees, all $10.00 go directly to the college to cover the replacement of locks and keys.

18. How does supervision work in the dormitories

There are coaches on every floor of every dorm with the campers. We maintain at least a 8-10:1 camper to staff supervision ratio. Our well-trained staff monitors all activities including meals and dorms.

19. Can my camper bring his cell phone, iPod, or any other electronic devices?

Campers will not be able to use cell phones, iPods, or any other electronic device during any camp activities. However, campers are allowed to bring such devices and are highly advised to leave them in their dorm room in which they will be safe. The camp is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

20. What is needed at check in?

You will need to bring medical release form and ID card.

21. Are trainers, doctors, nurses or other medical personnel available at camp?

Yes, there will be medical personal in the camp and trainers will be with their designated group all the time. 

22. Can I register more than one child and get a sibling discount?

There will be 10% discount for the second child from the same family.

23. Where should I go if I have any questions during camp?

You get help from camp organizers during camp. You will know them by their orange t-shirts.
